Task 2 population control essay + Tony's version 14 Feb

See my edited version (in italics, blue font) below:

Some governments say how many children a family can have in their country. They may control the number of children someone has trough taxes. It is sometimes necessary a right for a government to control the population in this way. Do you agree or disagree.

I will demonstrate why I think governments should control the number of children in a family. Also, I am going to focus on the necessities and rightness of a government to control population in this way.

In the beginning, I agree it is necessary to control the number of children in some countries for example China, India and Egypt. These countries have a high density of population and scarcity of natural recourses. The high density leads to diseases and poverty in these countries. Moreover, people will be less educated because no chance for everyone to be educated and crimes will appear and violence increase.

Government can have morally right to control the number of children in some circumstances such as the above mentioned countries. Sparsely of population will have great impact on several areas such as education, safety and healthiness. It is obviously noted that when there is less population people have more chance to go to school and colleges and less crime.

There are some methods of controlling the population and it is through taxes. People will think twice before planning to have a child in their family because this means they will pay taxes for that. When it comes to money issue and giving people are hesitate. Also family planning is another way of controlling the population by allocating more efforts in family education to minimize the family no more than two children in one family.

In conclusion, I am with controlling the number of children but in countries with high population density.

The problem of over-population is a critical issue for governments all over the world. In this essay I will discuss why I think governments should control the number of children in a family. Also, I am going to focus on the necessities and justification for a government to control population in this way.

At the outset, I must state that I agree it is necessary to control the number of children in some countries for example China, India and Egypt. These countries have a high density of population and scarcity of natural resources. This high density leads to diseases and poverty in these countries. Moreover, people will be less educated because there will be insufficient opportunities for everyone to be educated and violent crime will become a feature of life.

Governments certainly
have the moral right to control the number of children in some circumstances such as the above mentioned countries. Low population growth will have a great impact on several areas such as education, safety and health. It is obvious that when there is less population, people will have more chance to go to school and college. At the same time there will be less crime.

There are some methods of controlling the population, such as through taxes. People will think twice before planning to have a child in their family because this means they will pay taxes for that. Also family planning is another way of controlling the population by allocating more efforts to family education by limiting the family to no more than two children per family.

In conclusion, I am for controlling the number of children in countries with high population density. However, one needs to look at each country on a case-by-case basis. While some countries need to reduce their population growth, others need to increase their declining or under-developed number of citizens.

Thanks Saeeda!

As I have said repeatedly, there should be a TOPIC sentence about the essay task before you directly state your position.

You adopt the same approach in both essays regarding the introductory paragraph.

You talk about developing countries, but don't refer to the UAE at all. Nevertheless, you make a strong, but rather heavy-handed case for birth control.

I will try to look at the language points tomorrow (both essays are on my memory stick).

Any comments anybody else?

Where are you?

Tony
